About Me

I’m a plant ecologist with a PhD in biology from Wake Forest University (Go Deacs!). I am currently a Lecturer of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, a public liberal arts institution in southeastern NC.  In my research, I am trying to determine where streamside trees get their water under normal circumstances, and how that changes in times of poor water quality, drought, or flooding. I’m an amateur photographer, animal lover, and a conservationist. My wife and I enjoy science, sightseeing, and outdoor activities.
